Going Through Customs
Once the iPhone is created and packaged, its sent through customs. After the phones have made it through customs, Foxconn then sells the phones back to Apple. Apple is now able to sell the phones to Apple affiliates around the world at a profit.
Most of these transactions happen electronically.
Coming To America
Once the iPhones pass customs, they are shipped to the airport. For the iPhones that are coming to America, they board a Boeing 747 that can easily carry up to 150,000 iPhones. Traditionally, computers that were made in China were shipped to America via shipping. Those trips could take up to a month to arrive to America. Because iPhones are light and easily packed, they’re able to be more efficiently shipped using airplanes.
